IN A COMPLETE FIRST, build-to-rent (BTR) specialist Wise Living and leading mixed-tenure developer Countryside have agreed a brand-new £30 million scheme to deliver 97 BTR homes in Bristol. This exciting scheme not only represents the inaugural partnership between the two property specialists, but also marks Wise Living’s expansion into the South West.
In a record time of just under six weeks, Wise Living and Countryside completed the standout deal which includes plans for a mix of one, two, three, and four-bed energy-efficient and modern homes for private rental in the Cribbs Causeway area of the city. The majority of these homes will benefit from solar panels and once completed will be expertly managed and maintained by Wise Living for its tenants.
This forms part of a wider masterplan for up to 5,700 dwellings in the area, known as Cribbs Patchway New Neighborhood.
Katie Stamper, Partnerships Manager in the South West at Wise Living, said:
“Working with Countryside on this has been a truly collaborative approach and we are delighted to have been able to swiftly combine our expertise to agree on and deliver what will be an exceptional development for private rental in the area – providing the community here with fantastic homes designed with families and professionals in mind.
“From a wider business outlook, this scheme in Bristol also represents the beginning of a much larger presence for Wise Living in the South West in the coming years. Over the next three years, we’ve set a target of securing over 500 BTR homes in the South West, to support our business plan target to build 2,000 homes per annum nationally. This is hugely exciting for us and we are looking forward to working alongside our developer partners to deliver more homes to rent in the region”
Darren Dancey, Managing Director, South West, Countryside, commented:
“We are delighted to have partnered with Wise Living to deliver much-needed homes for private rental at our Cribbs Causeway site near Bristol. We are extremely proud of the collaborative relationship we have developed with Wise Living, working hard to complete this exciting deal in record time.
“Delivering sustainable homes is at the heart of what we do at Countryside, so we are pleased to be bringing a range of high-quality and energy-efficient homes to benefit those in the local community. This is our first project with Wise Living and we look forward to building on this relationship going forward as we develop further plans in the region to bring to life best-in-class sustainable developments that result in thriving places people want to live and work.”
